Home fragrance company Scentsy Inc., headquartered in Meridian, Idaho, recently announced it will open a new distribution center in Coppell, Texas, to serve its customers in the south central US. The distribution center will add 190 new jobs to the local economy and handle approximately 27 percent of Scentsy’s orders in the U.S. by the end of 2011.

Scentsy has plans to lease approximately 150,000 square feet of space for the new distribution facility, which is scheduled to open this month. The new distribution center is anticipated to reduce shipping times to customers in the south central U.S. from three to four transit days to one to two days, according to the company. Scentsy’s other distribution centers in Meridian, Idaho, and Lexington, Kentucky, serve the western and eastern U.S. respectively. Scentsy also has a distribution facility in Poland for its European Union customers.

“Scentsy’s success in the south central United States is a big reason behind our phenomenal growth as a party-plan company. This facility will help us offer faster shipping to Scentsy fans not only in Texas, but Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi,” said Orville Thompson, Scentsy CEO.
